A Rushing In Traffic with Blog Rush

You may have noticed a new widget in the sidebar below the recent posts widget. This is Blog Rush, a new blog syndication service by John Resse, that has just entered beta testing.

I removed a few widgets to make room for Blog Rush, to test out the results on my blog traffic. This of course is being tested along side of the Exit Explosion applet. (annoying yes/no?). I may or may not keep this widget, depending upon my test results. If traffic increases substantially over the next few days and weeks, I may carve out a permanent place for the widget into my new and improved blog design.

Essentially, Blog Rush is referral based content syndication service, providing another blogger’s blog posts as text links within the context of the Blog Rush widget on my own sidebar. In turn, my posts will also be syndicated and displayed on other blogs that are members of the Blog Rush network.

So let me break down what Blog Rush does, and then, how to gain maximum benefit from it. See my stats below:

First of all, Blog Rush is clearly a part of a traffic generation strategy. I repeat a Traffic Generation Strategy like Atomic Blogging.

To get someone’s attention with Blog Rush, the primary thing you need to do is write COMPELLING 7 WORD HEADLINES (or approximately no more than 40 characters including spaces). This guarantee’s your whole headline will be syndicated in Blog Rush’s widget without getting cutoff.
